Fr. Robert Memorial Celebrations
Date: Saturday, March 20, 2010Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
10 AM: Prayers at Fr. Robert's grave at Mt. Calvary Cemetery (Odilia/Edith)
12 NOON: Memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church (820 Broadway SE)
Immediately after Mass: Potluck Lunch Reception (at the parish hall)
We warmly invite all those who love Fr. Robert to join us for this special day as we commemorate the First Anniversary of his departure from this earthly life. (Note: Fr. Robert Stanion's actual date of passing is 03/23/09; the friars prayerfully chose March 20th, a Saturday, as the date for his Memorial Mass to allow more people to attend this important event).
The day begins by a visit to Fr. Robert's grave at 10:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Cemetery (Odilia/Edith). We will celebrate a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM (NOON) at St. Francis Xavier Church, 820 Broadway Blvd. SE (intersecting with Pacific; not far from Coal/Lead off I-25).
Please join us for this important day - we hope to see you there!
Suggestions for potluck dishes include the following (in 2-qt containers):
green salads
sandwich condiments (e.g., mayo, mustard, sliced pickles, sliced onions, sliced tomatoes, cleaned lettuce)
trays of sliced lunchmeats
trays of sliced cheeses
potato salad
macaroni salad
baked beans
pasta salad
small sandwich rolls (bulk packs from Sam's or Costco are good)
large sheet cakes (such as carrot cakes etc. from Costco)
bottled water
coffee and fixings (cups, stirrers, sugar, creamer)
lemonade
All leftovers will be donated to the poor or will be kept for the friary. Thank you for your generosity!
